March is here – one of my favourite months – the winter’s pretty much over, the sun’s warming up everything back to life, and in Bulgaria we have the most colourful and meaningful celebrations. First of March is the day of Baba Marta (Granny March) – it marks the arrival of spring and we put on red and white woven martenitsi to symbolise health and longevity.
