Last week Thursday was 11/1 (or 1/11) of year 2018 – an 11 year. That is a great deal of Number 1 in a row – an unusual occurrence and a very powerful numerology!
The symbolism of the Number 1 is one of new beginnings, creation, independence, uniqueness, motivation, striving forward and progress, ambition and will power, positivity and positiveness. Number 1 also resonates with the energies of pioneering, raw energy, force, activity, self-leadership and assertiveness, initiative, instinct and intuition.
For many this is the true beginning of the year. If you are like me and for the first ten days or so you didn’t quite feel the full arrival of the new year, if you didn’t feel the urge to set goals and write resolutions, and in general lacked a drive to move forward, this is why.
The 11th of January is the true, (non) official start of the year.
For me personally, 11th is coloured with emotions not so future-oriented. It is the day when my grandfather died and on that day I usually honour the past, and all who have passed. Perhaps this is a good way to pay our respects to the times past and then welcome in the times to come.
If you didn’t have the opportunity, or the mind to use the primal energy of this date, don’t fret. 11th January marks the beginning of a portal-opening which will continue until the New Moon on the 17th January. New Moons are always an auspicious time to set intentions for the future and plant the seeds of our dreams and desires.
The energies are with us now and as the moon wanes and goes into darkness, we’ll have the opportunity to go deeper within ourselves and touch upon our most sacred dreams and aspirations. Utilising the power behind the Number 1, we’ll have the clarity, vision, willpower and drive to set these plans into motion as well. Use this powerful time to set foundations for your future!
As of me and my intentions, things are slowly coming together. This year I wasn’t keen on putting down anything concrete, I want to FEEL my way through the new year. But then I came across this article and I decided to choose a word for the year. Even though I was familiar with the concept, I didn’t plan on using it, but then again the Universe works in mysterious ways.
I looked and felt back through the past year and the years before and instantly knew that my word for the coming year will be CONNECTION.
I’ve spent years walking my spiritual path mostly alone. The process of soul-searching and self-discovery is always a solitary one, you’re extremely lucky if have a companion or a guide with you. Going down that road is a lonesome venture and it has to be. I’ve needed the time and I needed to be in solitude.
Just recently I became aware of the effect of this. I do still enjoy time by myself but I do recognise the craving for human connection too. And that word popped out completely naturally. It is my word for the year.
Considering the powerful energies surrounding us right now, I urge you to spent some time in peace and quiet and envision your future – your truest dreams and desires. Feel through them – how would you like to feel, how would you like to be? Feel it in your heart and hold that feeling close at all times. If you like the concept about the word of the year – spend some time reflecting back and recognise what you’ve really craved or wished for?
