Here and now: being grateful for another year

Happy New Year 2017!

This is a year which numerologically is a year 1 (2+0+1+7=10=1): new beginnings, new stories, new creations and changes on individual level, and more or less globally. The focus is being turned within, not outside of us. Internally we will find the power and courage to change what doesn’t serve us externally. By turning to our cores and setting up a life that supports our values, we will externally project love, strength and unconditional intention to better our collective world.

Don’t be afraid (or feeling guilty) to look into you and be committed to your own process of enlightenment. Your light needs to be fostered, nurtured and let out. This way you will be setting an example and will be giving a permission to others to do the same.

By strengthening our cores we will be strengthening the core of humanity and bringing forth the realisation that we all work as one.

And don’t take the visible happenings and events of our world at face value – there’s hidden meanings and lessons in everything that’s currently upon us!

I was thinking, we had a very tough year. It was hard, it was intense. But when I changed my perspective I saw all the hidden gems I’ve unearthed – 2016 was a great teacher in disguise

So this post is about bringing our awareness to the present moment, being grateful and humble for what has happened in the past and not project and fall into wishful thinking about the future.

I was quick this time to notice my mind wandering into thinking and wishing that the next year is better than the last. Setting up hopes and expectations for an unattainable future, not seeing the gifts this last year has given me already. And realised we do this every time the year changes or when our birthdays roll.

Trapped in a cage between then in the past and when in the future. Sigh…

Now I’m bringing the awareness to this present moment with  a plea to find the gold buried in our past experiences – a whole year that has certainly taken us closer to what we’re aiming for. Through the lessons it had for us and the experiences it had us go through. Stumble after stumble, block after block.

If you’re feeling you haven’t moved even an inch forward and you’re stuck in an unbearable rut – even then you shouldn’t despair but know that you will eventually see your progress. You will know what that seemingly pointless time has been for. You will know it’s never for nothing.

Our time is never a waste of time.

And I’d like to urge you not to set your gaze upon the future and wish too much that it will bring you something you long for. Don’t give away your power this way. It’s up to us how we look at our lives and experiences and the key is to just stay here and now in our thoughts. We have the power but only if we use it now in this moment to change something that we don’t like.

Like our thoughts, actions and responses.

Happy past, now and new-to-come! <3
