Birthday wishes and full moon magic

This last Sunday was my birthday – happy 32 years to me!

Birthdays are always tricky – the solar return of our lives – they mark an ending and a beginning. Since my birthday is in autumn I find it even more melancholic – the end of the summer season and the beginning of the “back to school” season. The two together have always been challenging for me.

But now that I’m at an age when there’s no school classes it feels more like reckoning with what I’ve achieved in my personal development and life. So it’s a time of looking back and evaluating and looking ahead and setting intentions.

For what I know is that the last year has been a tough section of my journey. But it ignited my awakening and here I am stepping onto my soul’s path more firmly. It feels like I’m only starting to see a direction faintly. Much is still obscured. But my determination is stronger than ever. I’ve took that sharp turn from which there’s no looking back anymore.

And to mark this special timing in my life a gorgeous Full moon lit up the night skies during the weekend. I know many of you have felt and witnessed this powerful event. Full moons are times when we shed the old that doesn’t serve us anymore and we continue onward lightened and refreshed. We also give thanks for what we’ve learned and wish to carry on with us. They’re times of review – like our birthdays.

So this Full moon and this birthday were unique and special for me. They mark the beginning of the next chapter of my life. A chapter I hope will be full of magic and wisdom, of compassion and joy, of progress and victories!

A chapter that I hope turns into a book.

We marked this occasion by heading over to the West coast of Ireland – a very remote but unbelievably beautiful location. We walked down to the end point of a peninsula, nothing but the Atlantic ocean ahead of us. And we found a stone circle on a flat part of the mountain. We laid down within it just before the moon came out from the clouds. It felt like being purged by divine light, it was sublime. We walked the circle and made wishes and gave thanks.
